KTGR is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Columbia Independent tennis junior Wyatt Litton. Last weekend, Wyatt claimed the individual championship in the Class 1 District 3 tournament for his second consecutive district title. He sits with a record of 17-1 this season.
“[Wyatt] achieved this by winning straight sets in all his matches and dropping only 4 games over the entire individual tournament this year,” said CIS tennis coach Laurel Owen. “He has competed and won against several Class 2, #1 singles players this season including Rolla, Camdenton, and Father Tolton and has a 17-1 record. Wyatt is not only an excellent tennis player but he is a dependable and coachable player as well as an encourager to his teammates. He leads by example on our team, demonstrating what it looks like to be a composed, considerate, and kind person and player.”
Wyatt will compete in the state tournament next week. CIS tennis will face Moberly in the team district tournament on Wednesday.
