KTGR Athlete Spotlight: Jayda Porter

Each week, KTGR is highlighting an outstanding area high school athlete!

This week’s Athlete Spotlight features Rock Bridge sophomore forward Jayda Porter. Last week, Jayda scored 29 points while adding eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks in the Bruins’ 68-51 win over Booker T. Washington (OK) at the Sophie Cunningham Classic. Porter shot 11-of-21 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.

“Jayda is our leading scorer and rebounder and the focal point of many of our opponents, as she consistently navigates double and triple teams with ease,” said Rock Bridge girls basketball coach Jill Nagel. “While she is a great target for us in the paint, Jayda does a excellent job involving everyone in the offense. Defensively, she does an excellent job of protecting the paint and rim. Jayda is not only a talented player but a great teammate as well!”

Jayda and the Bruins will play next on Thursday night at Capital City.
