KTGR is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Battle sophomore golfer Blayne Jungmann. Last week at the district tournament in Fulton, Blayne shot a 79 to qualify for the state tournament, becoming just the seventh Battle boys to qualify for state in the program’s history.
“Blayne is one of the most dedicated and committed athletes that we have had in our program,” said Battle golf coach Thaddeus Hamilton. “This year he was forced into a leadership role, as a sophomore, and has accepted the challenge with flying colors. I look forward to working with him over the next two years.”
The Class 5 boys golf state tournament will take place next Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia.
