KTGR is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Rock Bridge senior shortstop and pitcher Asher Schulze. Last weekend at the Hoover Buc Classic in Hoover, Alabama, Schulze went 7-for-16 with a home run, four extra-base hits, four steals and nine RBI over five games. He also got the win on the mound against Houston, TN with six innings pitched and two earned runs allowed, with three walks and six strikeouts.
Asher’s efforts helped Rock Bridge go 5-0 on the weekend against several teams from Alabama and Tennessee.
“Asher is the anchor in our lineup and a top arm on the staff,” said Rock Bridge baseball coach Jeff Bazat. “His ability to hit, play amazing defense, and fill up the strike zone make him impactful in every game we play. Asher is also driven by the will to win and a great positive example of handling the ups and downs of our game of failure.”
Rock Bridge baseball is now 9-0 after an extra-inning win over Smith-Cotton Tuesday. They will play Smith-Cotton again Wednesday in Sedalia.
