KTGR and MU Health Care Sports Medicine are highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Battle sophomore forward Tiyelle Frye, who scored 33 points on 15/20 shooting, along with 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in the Spartans’ victory over Mexico in the first year of the Spartan Invitational last Saturday.
“Tiyelle has not only made a positive impact at Battle High School for the girls basketball team, but also as a volleyball player, track athlete, and student,” said Battle girls basketball coach Chaun Davis. “She represents everything we here at Battle want our students to stand for every day. In only her sophomore year, she now holds records for both the 2nd and 7th most points scored in a single game at BHS. We have no doubt she will continue to leave her mark on the record books.”
Battle girls basketball is 3-6 overall and will next play in the Sophie Cunningham Classic at Columbia College against Blue Valley North on Friday at 11 a.m. You can hear that game live on KTGR.
