KTGR and MU Health Care Sports Medicine are highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Rock Bridge junior forward Simone Walker, who averaged 19 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and shot 89% from the field in the Bruins’ three games at the Class 6 District 7 tournament last week. Her efforts helped Rock Bridge secure a fourth-straight district title.
“Simone continues to grow and impact our team on the offensive and defensive end,” said Rock Bridge girls basketball coach Jill Nagel. “Her stat line in district play was insanely good! She finishes well at the basket, plays great defense, rebounds with a vengeance and shares the ball so well. Simone makes us better every day!”
Rock Bridge is 22-6 and will face Staley in the Class 6 quarterfinals for a chance to advance to the final four. The game will be Friday at 6 p.m. in Blue Springs.
