KTGR Athlete Spotlight: Jordan Fincher

KTGR is honoring the outstanding accomplishments of area high school athletes all this season!

This week’s Athlete Spotlight features Hickman sophomore wrestler Jordan Fincher. Last week in the district tournament, Fincher defeated four of the top six wrestlers in the 144-pound weight class on the way to a district title. He’s currently ranked second in the state in his weight class.

Hickman’s boys wrestling team had six individual district champions last week and had 10 wrestlers qualify for the state championships at Mizzou Arena this weekend. Below is a list of the wrestlers competing:

“This team has broken records for the most all-conference wrestlers (10), most district champions (6), went 10-0 in Duals and were CMAC Champions, and the most wrestlers in a state tournament (10) in a season!” said Hickman wrestling coach Dan Pieper. “This team has broken records for Hickman High School all year and are headed into the state tournament looking to break another record with the first team trophy since 1936.”

Hickman will compete in the Class 4 state wrestling championships on Friday and Saturday.
