KTGR is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week! This week features Hickman senior Hank Benter.
This weekend at the MSHSAA state wrestling championships Benter became the 44th wrestler in state history and the second ever Hickman Kewpie to become a four-time state champion with a second round pin in the Class 4 126-pound championship match.
“Hank is not only a leader in the wrestling room but also in the classroom. Hank has won 4 state titles for Hickman High School and has a 4.23 GPA as well. Hank’s overall career record is 187-4 and only one of those four losses were in the state of Missouri. Hank is what you call a true student athlete,” Hickman head wrestling coach Dan Pieper said.
Hickman finished in second place to Liberty in the Class 4 championships, finishing with 157 points.
