KTGR is highlighting an outstanding local high school athlete each week!
This week features Columbia Independent School senior track athlete Alison Soper. This weekend, Soper will compete in multiple events at the state track championships. She qualified for the 100-meter race by finishing third at districts and also ran the opening leg on the 4×100-meter team that also holds the school record.
“Alison has been a caption and leader on the girls team the last two years,” said CIS track coach Dan Radkowiec. “She’s a great leader by example and is the first girl student athlete to qualify for more than one event since 2017!”
The Class 1 girls track state championships will be this Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City.
