COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri wrestling team is set to host the second annual Tiger Style Invite at Staley High School in Kansas City on Saturday, Nov. 11. Mizzou will be joined by Maryland, Cal Poly, SIUE, Little Rock and Lindenwood.

Last year, on Nov. 12, 2022, Missouri claimed five of the 10 weight titles in the tournament and won the invite with 187.5 team points. Brock Mauller topped the 149 bracket, going 3-0, while Jarrett Jacques worked his way to the top of the 157-pound bracket, going 4-0 with a major decision and two tech falls. Keegan O’Toole bonused his way to the 165 title with a tech and two falls, and Colton Hawks worked his way to first at 184 pounds. Finally, hometown hero Zach Elam closed out the tournament with the 285-pound finals match, where he majored Trevor Tinker from Cal Poly.

In addition to the five title winners, the Tigers had Noah Surtin (125), Connor Brown (133) and Peyton Mocco (174) earn second place. Moreover, the three totaled six bonus-point wins to help the teams overall score and secure the Tiger Style Invite first-place finish for Missouri.

This season will be the final run for Elam, the Staley alum, as he hopes to earn back-to-back invite titles in his hometown. Doors will open at 9 a.m. CT, with wrestling starting at 10 a.m. CT.
