Wrestling Competes in Annual Black and Gold Scrimmage

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri competed in its annual Black and Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 28th. The afternoon featured 14 matches inside of Hearnes Center.

The scrimmage included three major decision finishes, including redshirt Freshman Zeke Seltzer over classmate Peyton Moore. Returning NCAA Qualifier Josh Edmond over redshirt Freshman Owen Uhls, and 2023 NCAA All-American Peyton Mocco over redshirt sophomore Ellis Pfleger.

Redshirt Junior Logan Gioffre and redshirt sophomore Nate Pulliam took their first 149-pound matchups by decision.

The Black and Gold tune-up also featured three wins by fall as redshirt Junior Noah Surtin earned a technical fall win over redshirt Freshman Preston Spray, 25-5, as did redshirt Senior Zach Elam over Freshman Jarrett Stoner, 17-1. Stoner was one of two Freshmen to see action. Redshirt Freshman James Conway also won by fall over fellow 157-pounder Jeremy Jakowitsch.

Seltzer squared off against redshirt sophomore Trey Crawford after both emerged victorious in their first matchups. Seltzer took the final 133-pound decision, 6-2.
