Women’s Track & Field Takes Home Indoor Championship

Elsah, Ill. – The Columbia College women’s indoor track & field team won its second-even American Midwest Conference (AMC) Indoor Championship.
The Cougars racked up an AMC team record 239 points en route to the win. William Woos finished second with 151 points, while Missouri Baptist rounded out the top-three with 125 points.

Lily Ashrafzadeh and Madeline Burton shared the title of AMC Athlete of the Meet.

Burton finished 2^nd in the triple jump, third in the long jump, 5^th in the 60-meter dash and high jump, 7^th in the 60-meter hurdles, 12^th in the shot put, and 14^th in the 800-meter run. In addition, Burton won Freshman of the Year honors.

Ashrafzadeh placed second in all four events – 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 4X400-meter relay, and long jump.
