Women’s Track and Field Ranked No. 9 in USTFCCCA National Poll

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women’s track and field team is ranked No. 9 nationally in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll released on Monday afternoon.

Missouri entered the rankings last week at No. 20.

The Tigers are coming off a pair of weekend competitions in Texas where seven athletes achieved program all-time top-10 marks.

Currently, the Tiger women hold 19 national top-100 marks led by senior Sophia Rivera who is ranked No. 1 in the country in the javelin with a throw of 57.67m (189-2) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on March 17.

Five other Missouri athletes claim Top-5 spots in Claudina Diaz (high jump), Arianna Fisher (triple jump), Kaia Harris (discus), Valentia Bornacelli (javelin), Skylar Ciccolini (javelin).

The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday as it travels to Wichita, Kan. to compete in the KT Woodman Classic.
