Columbia, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference has announced the members of the 2022 AMC Women’s Soccer All-Conference and Season Award winners.
The Cougars placed an AMC-best six players on the All-AMC First-Team, while also taking home four of the five special awards. Columbia is the first team since 2008 (McKendree) to win all of the major individual awards in the same season (Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Coach of the Year).

- AMC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year – John Klein
- Klein led the Cougars to another undefeated regular season of AMC play and with it, their 9th regular season title and fifth straight.
- AMC Player of the Year/1st Team All-Conference – Brooke Schneider
- Schneider has been a staple on the defensive line for the Cougars this season that held opponents to only 12 goals through 17 games played, including 10 shutouts. She has picked up two goals and two assists herself for six points. Brooke is the 8th Cougar to earn Player of the Year, also making it the 6th straight year that Columbia College has won the Player of the Year award.
- AMC Freshman of the Year – Madeleine Shylanski
- Shylanski has come on strong for the Cougars in her debut season, finishing the regular season leading the team in goals scored with seven. She is the second Cougar in-a-row to earn Freshman of the Year honors (Macie Lucas – 2021), and the 8th Cougar all-time.
- AMC Newcomer of the Year – Abigail Logan
- In her first season with Columbia, Logan has accumulated five goals and three assists for 13 points.
- 1st Team All-Conference – Emilia Zolesio Fernandez Blanco
- Emilia Zolesio has had another stellar season for the Cougars, producing two goals of her own and assisting on two goals for six points. This is Emilia’s second time earning 1st Team All-AMC.
- 1st Team All-Conference – Jewel Morelan
- Morelan has been named as 1st Team All-AMC for the fourth time in her career. This season, Morelan has scored six goals and is tied for first-place on the team with seven assists; further, she is also tied for first-place on the team with 19 points.
- 1st Team All-Conference – Macie Lucas
- Lucas seemed to hit her stride midway through the season as she finished with six goals and seven assists for 19 points. She earned AMC Offensive Player of the Week during the October 17-23 timeframe when she accumulated three goals and as assist on the week. This is Lucas’ second First-Team honors after earning them in the 2021 season when she was also named the AMC Freshman of the Year.
- AMC Newcomer of the Year/1st Team All-Conference – Abigail Logan
- In her first season of play with the Cougars, Logan quickly made a name for herself. She finished the season with five goals and three assists while earning 13 points. Logan is just the third Cougar to earn AMC Newcomer of the Year.
- 1st Team All-Conference – Isabella Govero
- Govero earned her first All-Conference honors after she finished the season with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
- AMC Champions of Character Team – Maddy Schrader
- Schrader was named to the AMC Champions of Character Team for her contribution to the NAIA Five Core Character Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. She finished the regular season contributing one goal and one assist for three points.
The AMC has also released the list of student-athletes to earn Academic All-Conference recognition. To be eligible for Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must be in their second semester at their AMC institution, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and finish the year on the team. *fall sport freshman are not eligible for the award in their first season
