Women’s Golf Leads After Day One of the AMC Championships

Eugene, Mo. – (Individual Leaderboard | Team Leaderboard) The Columbia College women’s golf team holds the lead after round one of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women’s Golf Championships, hosted at Redfield Course in Eugene, Mo.
 
The Cougars placed all five golfers in the top-10, with four in the top-five. Haleigh Berrey sits atop the leaderboard after shooting a 79 (+7). Cassidy McAlpine is third (81, +9), Emily Strunck is fourth (83, +11), Lillian Knipfel is fifth (84, +12), and Sydney Willingham is tied for ninth (90, +18).
 
Columbia had the top three in par 4 scoring, as Berrey was first (4.40) and Strunck and McAlpine were tied for second at 4.60. Additionally, Berrey led the way in par 5 scoring (5.00) and pars with 13.
 
Strunck and McAlpine combined for two of the four total birdies of round one.
 
The final round takes place on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:00 AM.
