Women’s Golf Hosts Johnie Imes Invitational

Columbia, Mo. – The Missouri women’s golf team brings it home for its annual Johnie Imes Invitational. The event will take place at the Club at Old Hawthorne, kicking off on Monday, Sept. 25.

This will be the 15th time the Tigers have hosted this tournament, winning it the past eight-consecutive years. 

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
The 2023 Johnie Imes Invitational is a three-day tournament, playing 18 holes each of the three days for a total of 54 holes with tee times starting on the first two days. The Tigers’ first tee time of day one starts at 8:45 a.m. Monday. 

The 2023 field features teams from 13 different schools including Mizzou. The Tigers will compete alongside Creighton, Omaha, Morehead State, Drake, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Howard, Illinois State, Lipscomb, Missouri State, Northern Illinois and Oral Roberts.

The par-72 course at The Club at Old Hawthorne measures 6,264 yards in length.

STRONG STARTS
The Tigers roll in after a highly productive week with a three-round score of 21-under at the Sam Golden Invitational. Junior Ffion Tynan notches her first top-10 finish and freshman Fleur van Beek tied rookie school tournament records. Melanie Walker also showed out for the team, carding a career-best 67 round.

LOOK AT LAST YEAR
Mizzou finished on top of the tournament with a total team score of 877 (+13) to win the tournament by an 11-stroke advantage. Senior Emily Staples looks to lead her team once again after last year’s third-place finish in the home tournament.
