Women’s Golf Continues Play at SEC Championship

The University of Missouri women’s golf team competed in the second round of the SEC Championship on Saturday, improving their score by five strokes on Saturday and carding a 299.

Freshman Fleur van Beek led Mizzou with a 71 in round two, improving her score by five strokes from round one. The rookie moved up 20 spots in the individual standings and is now in 38th place after two rounds of play. With a team-best four birdies on Saturday, she leads the Tigers through 36 holes of play with a 147.

Senior Emily Staples was second on Saturday with an 74, also improving five strokes from day one for a total score of 153.

Melanie Walker (75-78), Addie Dobson (74-80) and Ffion Tynan (79-76) rounded out the action for MU.

Day three is set for Sunday morning with an 8:40 a.m. CT tee time.
