Women’s Cross Country Wins Fifth-Straight AMC Championship

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College women’s cross country team won their sixth-straight American Midwest Conference (AMC) team title on Friday afternoon. The race took place at Cosmo Park in Columbia, Mo.

The Cougars were led by Peri Welch, who won the individual title in a time of 18:07.04. That time was the second-fastest in AMC history. Welch earned AMC Freshman of the Year, All-Conference, and Runner of the Year honors.

CC had three other runners named AMC All-Conference – Mikayla Sehlmeyer (5th, 19:10.18), Jada O’Donnell (7th, 19:12.52), and Kyla Bertschinger (8th, 19:14.16).
