Women’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at AMC Championships

NEVADA, Mo. – The Columbia College women’s cross country competed in the AMC Women’s Cross Country Championships this morning, taking fourth in their final race of the season.

Sophomore, Baylie Combs crossed the finish line first for Columbia, taking 14th place with a time of 25:00.86. Combs was also named to the AMC Academic All-Conference team.
To be eligible for Academic All-Conference honors, student-athletes must be in their second semester at their AMC institution, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and finish the year on the team. *fall sport freshman are not eligible for the award in their first season.

Columbia’s Paige Thielen was also named to Champions of Character team, which goes to a player who best exemplifies the NAIA Five Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Integrity and Servant Leadership.
