Opening Tip:

  • The Cougars enter the game with an overall record of 16-5 and 9-1 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) action. 
  • William Woods is 6-14 overall and 3-7 in the AMC. 
  • Columbia fell to Lyon in their last outing, 73-71, on a buzzer-beater. 
    • The loss snapped a five-game win-streak.
    • Clare Shetley recorded another double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. 
    • DeLaney Horstman (13), Abby Backes (11), and Peyton Crowe (10) reached double figure point totals in the loss. 
  • William Woods comes into Saturday after blowing out Stephens (Mo.), 53-35, on Thursday. 
    • Natalie Thomas picked up a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. 
    • Sydney Booker joined Thomas in double-figures with 10 points. 
    • The Owls defense held the Stars to single-digits in three of the four quarters, including 11 points total in the second half. 
  • This is the 47th all-time meeting between the two schools, with Columbia holding a 36-11 record. 
    • In the last meeting, the Cougars walked out of Anderson Arena in Fulton, with a 73-40 win on Dec. 4, 2021. 
      • Peyton Crowe (18), Mallory Shetley (16), and DeLaney Horstman (13) led the Cougars in scoring. 
      • Horstman added 10 rebounds for what was her first collegiate double-double 
      • The Cougars shot 51.7-percent from the field (31-60) and 40.0-percent (6-15) from the 3-point line. 
      • Sydney Booker led William Woods with 12 points, the lone Owl in double figures. 
    • Columbia is 23-3 all-time at home against the Owls. 
    • William Woods has not won in Southwell Complex since the 2014-15 season. 
  • Clare Shetley is second in the AMC in rebounds per game (9.7), while Sydney Booker (WWU) is fourth averaging 8.5. 
  • Columbia’s Allison Stiers is third in the conference, shooting 53.1-percent from the field. 
  • The Cougars are tied with Lyon atop the AMC standings with a 9-1 record, while William Woods is tied for sixth at 3-7. 

Tickets:

  • Ticketing in the Arena of Southwell Complex will be limited to one-third capacity in order to allow for more social distancing between stable groups.
  • Season ticket holders WILL NOT be affected, as their tickets are included in the new capacity limit.
  • Remaining single-game tickets will go on sale 48 hours prior to the start of a contest.
    • Students, Faculty, and Staff may claim tickets as normal (Sunday before the game) using their designated passcodes.
