COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball inked Ma’Riya Vincent to its 2024 signing class, head coach Robin Pingeton announced on Wednesday.

The No. 4 ranked prospect in the state of Texas out of DeSoto High School, Vicent has averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for her prep career.

“Ma’Riya has the ability to impact the game on so many levels,” Pingeton said. “We love her versatility. She can score on all three levels as well as defend multiple positions. She is strong, athletic, and explosive!”

The six-foot guard claimed All-State honors and was a Naismith High School Basketball Player of the Year nominee following the 2022-23 season.

As an AAU player for FAM Elite, Vincent competed in the 16U Adidas National Championship and was named First-Team All-Adidas following the competition.

“I choose Mizzou based on my top two principles: God and family,” Vincent said.” Faith and family are Mizzou’s principles, so being a part of a program with those principles at the forefront is where I want to be. I get to compete at a high level with a coach who has years of experience, as well as with a team who loves being together on and off the court.”

In the classroom, Vincent is a two-time Academic All-District performer while also competing as a member of DeSoto’s debate team.

Vincent is the first member of the Tigers’ 2024 class.
