Women’s Basketball Cruises Past SEMO

Columbia, Mo. – Led by five Tigers in double figures University of Missouri Women’s Basketball team cruised to an, 88-43, victory over SEMO Saturday afternoon at Mizzou Arena.

Graduate forward Hayley Frank led the Tigers with 18 points and nine rebounds. Frank has led Mizzou in scoring in three consecutive games.

Freshman guard Abbey Schreacke added 16 points and four boards. Schreacke reached double-figures in back-to-back contests.

Sophomore guard Ashton Judd tallied 12 points and six rebounds. Judd has scored in double-digits in all but one game this season.

Mama Dembele recorded three assists, claiming sole possession of tenth on the Mizzou all-time career assists list from Natalie Bright (1998-2002), with 318.

Missouri jumped out to an early 8-2 advantage as freshman forward Grace Slaughter scored seven of the first eight Tiger points. Slaughter started the contest with a perfect 3-of-3 mark.

With the early momentum, the Tigers were able to increase their lead to 18-7 to close the opening quarter. Hayley Frank also aided the initial effort with seven points in the first frame.

Ashton Judd made her mark in the second period as she notched nine points with a pair of threes. Judd’s effort helped Missouri extend its lead to 41-19 at the break.

The Tigers continued to extend their lead into the third as Mizzou outscored the visitors, 21-6. The six points allowed is the fewest total allowed by the Tigers since versus Omaha (Dec. 9, 2022.)

Freshman forward Hannah Linthacum, who made her first career start in the contest scored six points in the quarter.

Led by nine points from graduate forward Abby Feit, the Tigers maintained a 30-plus lead for the entire final period.

Mizzou out-rebounded the Redhawks 49-26, marking the highest rebound margin in a contest this season for Missouri.

UP NEXT

The Tigers return to Mizzou Arena at 6 p.m. on Wednesday to host another in-state opponent in Missouri State. The contest will be broadcast on SECN+.
