Woman’s Golf in Second after Round One at Tulane Classic

University of Missouri women’s golf got off to a strong start at the Tulane Classic on Sunday, sitting in second of 17 schools. Additionally, two Mizzou golfers are currently in the top five in the individual standings. 

During Sunday’s action, the Tigers are four-over with a team score of 292, only one shot behind the leaders Notre Dame. 

In the first round of play, Emily Staples and Fleur van Beek are tied for fifth at one-under. Both scored a 71, with four birdies each. Staples started off the first two holes of the day with birdies to set the pace for the rest of her round.

Additionally, junior Ffion Tynan secured a spot in the top 20, tying for 17th place with a 74, carding one birdie and a clean back nine scorecard. Addie Dobson (75), Winnie Ng (76) and Melanie Walker (78) rounded out the day for Mizzou.

The second round begins with tee times at 8:18 a.m. CT tomorrow for Mizzou in New Orleans.
