Volleyball Earns Win Over Taylor to Wrap up IWU Invitational

Marion, Indiana – The Columbia College volleyball team played to a 3-1 win today over Taylor University to wrap up play in the IWU Invitational. After dropping the first set, the Cougars rallied to win the next three by scores of 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-20. 

The win moves the Cougars to 19-4 on the year as they play next in the William Woods Quad next week in Fulton, Mo. 

The Cougars led the Trojans in kills (51-48) and digs (58-53). 

After hitting .000% in the opening set, the Cougars bounced back by hitting .419% in set two. 

Two different Cougars hit double-digit kills in that of Allana Capella and Ellie Rockers. 

Allana Capella finished with 15 kills, six blocks, and six digs. 

Ellie Rockers totaled 12 kills and nine digs. 

Alayna Rooks chipped in nine kills with six digs. 

Abby Massengill added six kills to go along with four digs. 

Luisa Ferreira led the Cougar offense with 47 assists and 10 digs, finishing with another double-double.

Clara Gower had a match-high 15 digs.
