Track and Field Travels To Southern California For Bryan Clay Invitational, Beach Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. — University of Missouri track and field will travel to southern California to compete in both the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific in Azusa, California, and the Beach Invitational, run by Long Beach State in Long Beach, California from April 11-13.

GREATNESS IN GAINESVILLE
  • The Tigers won four events at the Pepsi Florida Relays as Missouri had a successful weekend in Gainesville, Florida from March 29-30.
  • Isabella Sokolova took first place in the women’s long jump with a personal-best 6.21m mark that ranks seventh in Missouri track and field history.
  • Emily Offenheiser earned a victory in the women’s shot put with a personal-best 15.75m throw that stands as the ninth-best throw in program history.
  • Reilly Revord secured MU’s first event win of the weekend, topping the podium in the women’s 1500m with a 4:25.97 to best the 30-person field.
  • Rece Rowan secured the top spot in the men’s college discus throw competition with a 54.08m toss.
  • In totality, the Tigers wrapped up the two-day competition hosted by Florida with 14 top-five finishes.
SUCCESS IN STANFORD
  • The Tigers sent a distance contingent to the prestigious Stanford Invitational and left Palo Alto, California, with two marks that ranked among the top 10 in program history.
  • In the women’s 10,000m, Jenna Schwartz improved her standing on the program top-10 list, jumping from 10th to sixth all-time with a 33:56.58 mark that earned an eighth-place finish.
  • Blake Morris earned a program top-10 mark in the men’s 10,000m run, posting a 29:29.29 time that ranks seventh all-time in Missouri history.
AMONG THE RANKS
  • Missouri has five competitors ranked among the top 25 in Division I in the country on four different events.
  • Mitch Weber has come into his final season as a Tiger on a tear, currently ranking No. 12 in the country in men’s discus with a 59.71m mark from the Florida Relays
  • Sterling Scott opened his freshman outdoor campaign on a high note at the Florida Relays with a 15.64m triple jump mark that ranks No. 14 in the country.
  • In the women’s javelin, the Tigers boast a pair of top-25 throwers, as Skylar Ciccolini (52.43m) and Erin Zimmerman (51.18m) rank No. 18 and No. 21 in the country, respectively.
  • Rounding out the top-25 Tigers is high jumper Claudina Diaz, whose 1.79m jump at the Florida Relays tied her at No. 21 nationally.
