After a week-long hiatus, University of Missouri track and field will return to competition this weekend, splitting up the Tigers into two separate meets — the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday and the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. on both Friday and Saturday.

When Missouri last competed on Jan. 27-28 in the Indiana Relays and Texas Tech Invitational, the Tigers secured eight podium finishes — one of them being from freshman Isabella Sokolova, who posted a school record in the women’s 60m hurdles (8.38s).

The Music City Challenge will have a majority of the Tiger athletes present, led by Jayson Ashford (men’s 200m, 400m, 4x400m), Christopher Conrad (men’s 800m), Kelsey Schweizer (women’s 800m, mile) and Jenna Schwartz (women’s 5000m) in the track events. Sam Innes (men’s weight throw), Rece Rowan (men’s shot put), Sophia Rivera (women’s shot put) and Kaia Harris (women’s weight throw) highlight a few of the field athletes competing in Nashville. The meet can be followed here along with the official schedule.

Quinton Brown and Petar Canak will kick things off in the Don Kirby Invitational field events with the men’s long jump, while Roberto Vilches will partake in the men’s high jump. On the women’s side, Arianna Fisher and Euphenie Andre will compete in the triple jump, while Cali Essick and Sokolova will take on the long jump. Claudina Diaz will be the lone Tiger in the women’s high jump. The meet can be followed here along with the official schedule.
