Tomas Brock Highlights Men’s Basketball AMC Award Winners

Columbia, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the 2023 2023 AMC Men’s Basketball All-Conference teams, season award winners, academic all-conference team, and the AMC Men’s Basketball Champions of Character Team. The Cougars had a strong showing with post-season recognition as they claimed seven award winners, while also placing nine on the All-Academic team. 

After leading the Cougars to an overall record of 20-8, including a 12-4 mark in conference play, Head Coach Tomas Brock was named as the AMC Coach of the Year. With a 55-53 win over Hannibal-LaGrange, the Cougars claimed a share of the AMC regular season, earning the top-seed in the conference tournament. This is Coach Brock’s first time earning Coach of the Year. 

Carson Parker was named to the Champions of Character team. Each AMC school selects a member of their team to receive the NAIA Champions of Character Award. It is the student-athlete who they feel best exemplifies the NAIA ‘s five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

First Team All-Conference:

• Tony Burks – third-time receiving All-Conference honors, averages 19.3 points per game to lead the AMC, accumulated 540 points this season, season-high 41 points against Bellevue, 45 steals
• Collin Parker – named All-Conference for the second-time, averages 17.3 points per game, pulled down 179 rebounds this season, ranks third in the AMC in points per game, had season-high 27 points against William Penn

Honorable Mention All-Conference:

• Trendon Tisdale – scored 214 points this season, 62 assists, season-high 19 points against Williams Baptist
