Mara Titarsolej

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Senior Mara Titarsolej will represent University of Missouri gymnastics at the NCAA National Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, as an individual competitor on bars, the NCAA announced Monday.

The Zutphen, Netherlands, native posted the top score on the apparatus from a team that did not qualify for the NCAA National Semifinals from the Gainesville Regional. In the anchor position in the NCAA Gainesville Regional Second Round, Titarsolej scored a 9.950 to help Missouri notch a 49.475 as a team, the best bars score of its session.

This will be Titarsolej’s first time appearing at the NCAA National Championship as an individual competitor. As a gymnast at LIU, Titarsolej qualified as an individual for NCAA Regionals on bars twice.

Titarsolej’s appearance at the NCAA Championship caps a tremendous first year in the Black and Gold. As an individual, Titarsolej finished as a WCGA Regular Season Second Team All-American with a Missouri record 9.950 NQS, won a share of the SEC bars title at the SEC Championship and secured the program’s first perfect 10 on bars at the Mizzou to the Lou quad meet on Feb. 16.

The senior also helped the Tigers put together the best season on bars in program history. Thanks to her contributions, MU finished the season ranked 11th in the country on bars with a 49.420 NQS, both program bests. The team also compiled the three best bars team scores in team history this season, with the best mark coming from a 49.600 performance at the Mizzou Quad on March 10.
