Titarsolej Claims SEC Co-Specialist of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri gymnastics senior Mara Titarsolej earned SEC Co-Specialist of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The Zutphen, Netherlands native is the only gymnast in the conference to have multiple SEC Specialist of the Week honors in 2024.

Titarsolej made history Friday night, Feb. 16, at the Mizzou to the Lou event, posting Missouri’s first perfect 10 on bars in program history. The senior reset her own program record on the event that she set four meets ago at Georgia, as she now holds the program’s top three bar scores after just seven meets as a Tiger.

Thanks to her efforts, Missouri set a program record team score on bars with a 49.500, besting the four-team field on the apparatus.

This serves as her 25th career performance of 9.9 or higher on the apparatus. The two-time WCGA Regular-Season All-American is tied for eighth in the country in bars, scoring with a 9.914 average.

Missouri has now claimed back-to-back SEC Specialist of the Week honors after Jocelyn Moore claimed the award last week with a trio of 9.9 performances at No. 5 Kentucky. With three such accolades this season, the Tigers have the most SEC Specialist of the Week award winners of any team in the conference.
