Tigers Travel to Lexington to Face No. 9/12 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Missouri softball (25-17, 5-9 SEC) will take on No. 9/12 Kentucky (30-11, 9-6 SEC) in a three-game series beginning on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.

Game one with air on SECN+ while Sunday and Monday’s games will stream live on SEC Network. Jenny Dalton-Hill will call each game while Dave Baker will have Saturday’s game and Pam Ward will be on the call for Sunday and Monday’s contests at 6 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY

Kentucky leads the all-time series 10-9. The Tigers swept the last meeting with the Wildcats, taking all three games in 2019 from Lexington.

GEORGIA RECAP

The Tigers fell in the series against the Bulldogs despite hitting seven home runs over the three games. Jenna Laird led Mizzou’s five-homer effort in Friday’s win with a pair of solo shots. Megan Moll’s pinch-hit two-run home run put the game out of reach.

TOP OF THE ORDER

Jenna Laird and Brooke Wilmes have each homered three times over the last four games. The duo hit back-to-back home runs in the Tigers’ win over Georgia. Wilmes is now tied for eighth in Mizzou history with 38 homers over her career.

SPECS-TACULAR

Laurin Krings has accounted for over half of the Tigers’ strikeouts on the year. She has recorded a career-best 142 punch outs over 114.2 innings.
