Tigers Take Fourth at John McNichols Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Cross Country travelled to Terra Haute, Ind. to compete in the John McNichols Invitational at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.

The Missouri women earned a fourth-place finish in the 5k while the men came in sixth in the 8k. Four Tiger women finished in the top 25 to bolster the team’s final position.

TOP TIGERS

Sophomore Isabelle Christiansen was the frontrunner in the women’s pack. Christiansen crossed the line in 18:13.2 to take 21st in the crowded field. The second-year runner was followed consecutively by sophomore Ginger Murnieks (18:17.6), junior Jenna Schwartz (18:23.5) and senior Mikayla Reed (18:24.4)

The men’s entrants were paced by senior Jacob Ridderhoff who claimed 24th with a time of 25:15.8. Sophomore Blake Morris, who claimed Missouri’s second fastest time at the Mizzou XC Opener was the second Tiger to find the finish line in 29th (25:22.8)
