Tigers Close Out SEC Championship Run

SEC Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women’s golf team closed out its run in the SEC Championship Friday afternoon after falling short to advancing onto the weekend match play. The Tigers finished in 14th place after posting a collective 57-over 921 (306-309-306).

Junior Sophia Yoemans led the Tigers in a final round individual surge, firing a 1-under 71 on the last day to compliment her beginning 2-over 74 and 1-over 73 to finish tied for 12th place with a 2-over 218. This marks her fifth round under-par this season.

Sophomore Emily Staples and junior Brianne Bolden each claimed a piece of 57th place. Staples’ performance was highlighted by her opening 18-hole score of a 2-over 74, while Bolden’s best round came at the end when she shot a 4-over 76. Both rounded out their events with a 17-over 233.

Graduating seniors Noelle Beijer and Keagan Dunn wrapped up her final career SEC events in T-64 and 69 as a substitution player, respectively.

This concludes the SEC 2020-21 season for Mizzou. The NCAA regionals take place from May 9-11.
