COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Track and Field’s Euphenie Andre, Claudina Diaz and program alumni Sophia Rivera will compete in the 2023 Pan-American games in Santiago, Chile from Nov. 3 to Nov. 5.
Andre will open the international event for the Tigers at 6:50 p.m. CT on Friday in the triple jump. Rivera will follow on Friday in the javelin at 7:50 p.m. CT, while Diaz will round out the event at 7:15 p.m. CT Saturday in the high jump.
Diaz claimed fifth in the event at the 2023 NCAA Championships in July. The junior earned All-American honors for the first time in her career after clearing 1.84m (6-0.25).
The sophomore advanced to the finals with a pair of fourth-place finishes at the SEC Championships and NCAA West Prelims.
A two-time All-American, Andre took 12th in the triple jump at the title meet with a personal-best leap of 13.39m (43-11.25).
The graduate notched seventh in the event at the SEC Championships and ninth in the event at the prelims.
Rivera concluded her Tigers career as a two-time First-Team All-American after a sixth place finish at the NCAA finals.
The former Tiger holds Missouri’s program record in the javelin at 57.67m / 189-2 which she set at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on March 17, 2023.
