Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2020 NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America Team members.

The NAIA All-America committee consists of the NAIA-Men’s Soccer Coaches Association Executive Committee, the National Championship Games Committee and four men’s soccer coaches. Each team – first, second and third – consists of 11 members and the honorable mention teams.

Sophomore defender, Carson Lindsey, was named to the first team. The Kansas City, Mo.-native played a crucial role in leading the team to 16 wins, ten shutouts and an appearance in the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Semifinals. Lindsey was named Honorable Mention All-America in 2019, and earlier this spring, he was announced as the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference.

Liam Gibbs was named Second-Team All-America after going 16-3 in goal with seven shutouts. He allowed just 14 goals in 1,631:34 minutes in goal, and his goal against per game average (0.7) ranked him No. 14 in the NAIA. The junior goalkeeper from England earned a spot on the AMC Men’s Soccer All-Conference First-Team.

Erik Rajoy, a junior midfielder from Spain, earned Honorable Mention honors. Rajoy scored five goals and dished out nine assists in 2020-21 for the Cougars. His nine assists were the 19th highest total in the NAIA and led the AMC. After helping Columbia to the AMC Tournament Championship, he was named AMC Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-Conference.

Columbia has placed at least one player on the NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America list every year since 2015.
