Three Earn NAIA/AVCA All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have announced the 2023 NAIA Women’s Volleyball All-America Teams.

Luisa Ferreira, Ellie Rockers, and Allana Capella have each earned recognition.

Luisa Ferreira, a senior setter from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has earned Second-Team All-America honors, securing her fifth career All-America recognition. Across 39 games, Ferreira accumulated 1,445 assists, averaging 11.03 assists per set (8th in the nation). She also served 46 service aces and 104 kills for a total of 165 points. In American Midwest Conference (AMC) action, Ferreira picked up Setter of the Year and First-Team All-Conference honors.

Ellie Rockers, a senior outside hitter from Jefferson City, Missouri, was awarded AVCA/NAIA Honorable Mention All-American recognition. Rockers notched 365 kills and an attack percentage of 28 percent across 39 games. She grabbed a season-high of 18 kills against Missouri Baptist on 11/11/23 and picked up First-Team All-Conference honors.

Allana Capella, a sophomore right side hitter from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took home AVCA/NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors. Capella added 393 kills, putting down a career high of 18 kills against Missouri Baptist on 11/11/23. She totaled 460 total points for the Cougars and was named First-Team All-Conference.
