Thompson Claims 100 Back Silver on Day Four of SECs

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Sarah Thompson won silver in the 100 back to lead the University of Missouri swimming and diving teams on the fourth day of the SEC Championships.

Juniors Meredith Rees and Amy Feddersen also added fourth and fourteenth place finishes in the 100 back for the Tigers.

On the men’s side, senior Danny Kovac recorded his third fourth-place finish of the championships in the 100 fly. Junior Luke Davis, sophomore Mikolaj Malec and junior Noah Scheuermann also scored points for the Tigers in the 100 fly with 11th, 15th and 24th place finishes.

Senior Jack Dahlgren finished fifth in the 100 back, followed by freshman Grant Bochenski in 14th place.

Five Tigers qualified for the finals of the men’s 100 breast, led by junior Ben Patton with a fourth-place finish. Junior Josh Pales, sophomore Freddie Rindshøj, junior Will Goodwin and freshman Ty Spillane finished in 10th, 11th, 13th and 16th places, respectively.

Junior Carlo Lopez and sophomore Takuto Endo both scored points on the platform event, with 12th and 19thplace finishes.

With one day of competition remaining, the Mizzou men sit in seventh place with 589.5 points, and the Mizzou women sit in ninth with 372.5 points.
