Columbia, Mo. – The Missouri men’s basketball team dropped a 79-60 contest to conference opponent Texas A&M Wednesday night at Mizzou Arena after a late second-half run launched the Aggies in front to secure the victory.

Graduate guard Nick Honor led Missouri’s offensive effort as he scored a season-high 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Junior guard Tamar Bates and graduate forward Noah Carter also chipped in double digits on the night 18 and 11 points, respectively.

The Tigers (8-15, 0-10 SEC) opened the contest by knocking down four of their first seven attempts from behind the arc as they kept the contest close and led, 23-22, after a thunderous dunk from senior Mabor Majak. However, Texas A&M (14-8, 5-4 SEC) answered with a 16-0 run before late free throws by the Tigers gave the Aggies a 38-25 halftime advantage.

Missouri came out of the gates hot to begin the second half as they converted on eight of its first nine shots to get back within three points of the lead. However, the Aggies would not go away after a 10-0 run catapulted them back in front by double digits en route to the victory.

MU shot 45.8 percent from the field and 7-of-20 from 3-point range. The Aggies, meanwhile, converted 47.6 percent of their chances and were able to turn 12 Mizzou miscues into 24 points in the winning effort.
