Tennis Sweeps Two Matches Over Kansas City

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri tennis opened its 2022-23 season by sweeping a pair of matches over Kansas City, 7-0 and 7-0, respectively, Sunday at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.

The Tigers (2-0) battled the elements as well as the Roos (0-2) as the morning session was forced to the indoor courts by inclement weather in the area. The afternoon doubles matches and the first few games of singles took place outdoors before a second round of storms forced the match to concluded inside. 

Mae Canete, Inah Caneta, Emelie Schwarte, Gabriela Martinez and Laura Masic all went 2-0 in singles on the day with freshmen Andrea Artimedi and Koral Koldobski each picking up a victory.

Mizzou swept all six doubles matches, with the Canete sisters teaming up to win both of their matches at No. 1 doubles, Schwarte and Artimedi combining to win at No. 2 doubles and Martinez and Masic winning two at No. 3.

UP NEXT
The Tigers continue a six-match homestand to open the fall with a Saturday doubleheader against Bellarmine and two Sunday matchups against Omaha. Action at Mizzou Tennis Complex will start at 9 a.m. CT both days with the second matches starting at 1 p.m.
