COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri tennis closes out the regular season this weekend.with a Southeastern Conference matchup against No. 40 Arkansas and a nonconference doubleheader versus Saint Louis on Saturday.
All three matches are slated to take place at the Country Club of Missouri with a noon CT first serve on Friday and a 9 a.m./1 p.m. start on Saturday.
Mizzou (10-14, 1-11) is looking to break out of a seven-match skid. No. 104 Mae Canete moved back into the national rankings this week and has an overall record of 19-11 in singles.
The Tigers will honor seniors Eleanor Fay and Emelie Schwarte before Friday’s match. The SEC Tournament begins next week in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Razorbacks (11-10, 5-7) upset No. 12 Auburn and No. 50 Alabama on the penultimate weekend of league matchups. Carolina Gomez Alonso earned her second SEC Freshman of the Week honor.
Saint Louis (16-5) enters on a four-match winning streak with the Billikens winning six of seven overall. The 2023 team’s 16 victories match the 2017 and 1979 teams for the third-highest total in program history.
