Swim and Dive Hosts Auburn/Indiana in Midweek Clash

Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri swimming and diving program welcomes two nationally ranked teams, Auburn and Indiana, to Columbia on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

The Tiger’s first home meet of the season begins Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. from inside the Mizzou Aquatic Center, and live results can be found via the Meet Mobile App.

In the men’s CSCAA poll, all three men’s teams are in the top 20, with Indiana at no. 5, Auburn at no. 10 and the Tigers slotted in at no. 20. Meanwhile, the Mizzou women are receiving votes but are just outside the Top 25, while the Indiana women rank 9th and Auburn comes in at no. 18.

VS. AUBURN/INDIANA

  • Mizzou squares off against Auburn for the first time since Jan. 29, 2015, a 162-138 win.
  • The Tigers meet Indiana for the eighth time, most recently last fall as the Hoosiers herald a 6-1 edge all-time.
  • Of the 52 athletes on the roster, 47 will make appearances in tomorrow’s 32 separate swimming and diving events.
  • Collier Dyer, coming off a sweep of the men’s one-meter and three-meter boards at Alabama, is set to compete in both events again. Kayla Wilson, who took first prize in the women’s three-meter in Tuscaloosa, is also set to dive tomorrow.
  • Event winners Grant Bochenski, Taylor Williams and Jan Zubik are all set to swim tomorrow.

LAST TIME OUT: AT ALABAMA

  • Taylor Williams continued her illustrious start to the season by picking up two wins on the day. She took gold in the 200 fly for a second time this season, posting a time of 2:01.08. Later on, she paced the field in the 100 fly with a time of 54.07, squeaking past Alabama’s Gaby Van Brunt by one-tenth of a second.
  • Collier Dyer swept the diving events, first posting a 337.80 in the 1-meter, followed by 320.40 in the 3-meter, picking up a valuable 18 points for the Tigers.
  • Grant Bochenski continued his impressive run of form, winning the 100 back by over a second with his mark of 48.47. The gold medal performance was one of his four podiums today, raising his season total to six.
  • Coming off a rookie campaign that earned him All-SEC Freshman team honors a season ago, Jan Zubik continued his winning ways, taking first prize in the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.72 in his first race of the morning.
  • In his debut for the black-and-gold, freshman Leo Kurucz finished as the fastest Tiger in the men’s 1000 free, posting a second place time of 9:34.23.
  • Only one Alabama diver finished ahead of Wong or Wilson all day. Before the duo swept the 3-meter, they achieved second and third place finishes in the 1-meter, respectfully.
  • Wilson’s mark of 331.73 on the 3-meter board is the 10th highest score in program history.
