COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Volleyball Head Coach Dawn Sullivan rounded out her staff Saturday with the addition of Jhenna Gabriel as Technical Coordinator.

Gabriel comes to Mizzou with a wealth of volleyball experience. She is currently a professional volleyball player for Leonas de Ponce in Ponce, Puerto Rico, after completing a highly successful collegiate career at Texas and UNLV.

Gabriel, a Honolulu, Hawaii, native, most recently competed for Sullivan at UNLV in 2022, helping the Rebels secure the Mountain West Regular-Season Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

The setter picked up Mountain West Newcomer of the Year, All-Mountain West First Team honors, an AVCA South Pacific All-Region nod, and Academic All-District honors in her lone season with UNLV.

Gabriel ranked 39th in the nation and first in the Mountain West Conference with 1,149 total assists (10.45 per set).

Before attending UNLV, she racked up 3,491 assists over four seasons with Texas.

Gabriel led the Longhorns to an NCAA National Championship Runner-up finish in 2020 while also earning AVCA All-American and Big 12 Setter of the Year accolades.

She also picked up All-Big 12 honors and AVCA All-Southwest Region laurels at Texas.

Over her collegiate career, Gabriel captured five-straight conference titles in both the Big 12 and the Mountain West.

She has internship experience with AthleteFoundry, Total City Sports Volleyball, and Nike Volleyball in Austin, Texas.

Gabriel has also coached with Out of System Volleyball.

She earned her master’s in sport management in 2022 from UNLV after graduating from Texas in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.

With the addition of Jhenna Gabriel as Technical Coordinator, Cullen Irons will move to assistant coach.
