Softball Sweeps Series Against William Woods

Fulton, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team traveled down I-70 to take on the Owls of William Woods University for a pair of American Midwest Conference games. Pitching was key today in both wins for Columbia as they only allowed one earned run through 14-innings of play, to take game one 1-0 and then game two 2-1. 

Game One Stat Tracker:

  • AMC Pitcher of the Week Ella Schouten racked up 12 strike outs, only allowing three hits, to pick up her 11th win of the season
  • Abigail Pringer hit a double
  • Emily King collected the lone RBI

Game Two Stat Tracker:
CC def. WWU, 2-1

  • Jazlin Gottman finished with nine strike outs and only one earned run
  • Emily King had one double
  • Reigning AMC/NAIA Player of the Week Athena Wheeler hit a home run, marking her fifth home run in the last six games
  • Sophia Angel led the team with three hits while Emily King followed with two

The Cougars return to action this weekend when they host Williams Baptist College and Central Baptist College for two two-game series.
