Softball Splits With Trojans

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team continued American Midwest Conference (AMC) action this afternoon against Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), going 1-1 on the day. The Cougars overcame the Trojans in game one, 10-1, while falling in game two 8-6.

Columbia moves to 13-11 this season and 4-2 in AMC play.

• Tasia Green produced a three-run home run, adding two hits in the contest
• Emily King and Suzanna Shanks went 2-for-2 at the plate
• Chesney Luebbering recorded a triple, bringing in three runs
• Columbia brought in eight runs in the fourth inning, beginning with a base hit from Jodi Polly
• Ella Schouten earned the win in 5.0 innings pitched, striking out five

• The Cougars led 5-2 heading into the sixth inning, but the Trojans put up six runs to take game two
• Jazlin Gottman struck out four in 6.0 innings pitched

Columbia will return to action tomorrow against (RV) Missouri Baptist in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
