QUINCY, Ill. – The Columbia College softball team competed against NCAA Division II Quincy University (Ill.) this afternoon, dropping game one 3-0, while coming out on top 2-0 in game two.
The Cougars move to 9-9 on the season.

- Chesney Luebbering led the Cougars going 3-for-3, while also stealing one base
- Jazlin Gottman recorded four strikeouts over 4.2 innings pitched
- Quincy added seven hits to Columbia’s four

- Ellie Kliethermes drove in one RBI in the fourth inning
- The Cougars produced eight hits, while Chesney Luebbering led the way with two
- Emma Bruno scored the final run of the contest off a fielder’s choice in the 5th inning
- Suzanna Shanks and Ellie Kliethermes recorded a double
- Kathryn Guinn pitched a complete game, striking out one
Columbia returns to action at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on March 23 for a double header match up beginning at 2:00 p.m.
