Softball Splits with Braves

Ottawa, Kansas – The Columbia College softball team traveled to Ottawa University today for a double-header against the (RV) Braves. After taking the first game 4-1, the Cougars dropped the second game 1-10. 

Game One Stat Tracker:
CC def. Ottawa, 4-1

  • Bailey Merritt registered a double, while Emily King hit a home run
  • Abigail Pringer, Bailey Merritt, Emily King, Chesney Luebbering, Tasia Green, and Sophia Angel were all credited with one hit
  • Ella Schouten was credited with the win as she finished with nine K’s through seven innings, only allowing one earned run
  • Emily King finished with eight putouts, and Tasia Green followed closely with seven

Game Two Stat Tracker:
Ottawa def. CC, 10-1

  • Tasia Green hit a double
  • Sophia Angel (2) and Ella Schouten (1) both had hits in the loss
  • Cassidy Avery finished with an RBI
  • Cassidy Avery and Kennedy Jensen split time on the mound
  • Ella Schouten registered five putouts, while Emily King had three

The Cougars take a week off before they play again. Next weekend, they travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama where they will play six games through three days.
