Softball Drops Two in Oklahoma

Chickasha, Okla. – The No. 6-ranked Columbia College softball team went 0-2 on day two of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Invitational.
 
The Cougars fall to 5-4 on the season.
 
Game 1: (4) Oklahoma City def. (6) Columbia, 5-1
The Scoring:

  • T1 (OCU) – The Stars recorded three hits on two RBI’s, bringing in two runs (CC 0, OCU 2)
  • T3 (OCU) – A steal home and an RBI single secured two more runs for the Stars (CC 0, OCU 4)
  • T4 (OCU) – With a runner on third, a fielder’s choice allowed the Stars their final run (CC 0, OCU 5)
  •  B5 (CC) – Karolina Arbova hit a solo home run (CC 1, OKC 5)

Individual Leaders:

  • Karolina Arbova produced the lone run for Columbia.
  • Emily King recorded two hits.
  • Taylor Barnes went 2-2 on stolen bases.

 
Game 2: Oklahoma Panhandle State def. (6) Columbia, 3-2
The Scoring:

  • T4 (OPSU) – The Aggies drove in two runs on three hits (CC 0, OPSU 2)
  • T5 (OPSU) – A base hit brought in one runner for the Aggies (CC 0, OPSU 3)
  • B6 (CC) – Four hits allowed two Columbia runs, starting with a single from Karolina Arbova (CC 2, OPSU 3)

 
Individual Leaders:

  • Seven different Cougars recorded one hit, while Karolina Arbova documented a triple
  • Taylor Barnes and Mackenzie Kasarda each had one RBI

 
Up Next:
The Cougars will face RV Texas A&M-Texarkana on Friday, March 4 at the Gulf Shores Invitational, followed by a matchup with (20) Morningside (Iowa).
