Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College softball team celebrated their seniors with a doubleheader sweep over Missouri Baptist. With the game one victory, the Cougars have won the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Regular-Season Championship for the third-straight season (championship was not awarded in 2020 due to the COVID outbreak).

Game 1: (19) Columbia def. Missouri Baptist, 7-1
The Scoring:
- B1 (CC): Emily King hit a sac fly scoring Taylor Barnes (CC 1, MBU 0)
- B2 (CC): Abigail Pringer tripled home a run and scored on an error (CC 3, MBU 0)
- B3 (CC): Karolina Arbova singled, bringing home Mackenzie Kasarda (CC 4, MBU 0)
- B4 (CC): Kasarda hit an infield single, scoring Suzanna Shanks (CC 5, MBU 0)
- T5 (MBU): A fielder’s choice scored a run for the Spartans (CC 5, MBU 1)
- B6 (CC): The Cougars added two runs on a double from Kasarda and a single from King. (CC 5, MBU 1)
Inside the Box:
- Mackenzie Kasarda went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Abigail Pringer added two hits, including a triple.
- Taylor Barnes and Suzanna Shanks had stolen bases.
- Lexi Dickerson went 6.0 innings in the circle, allowing six hits, one earned run and four strikeouts.
- Madison Ramsey tossed one inning with a strikeout.
Game 2: (19) Columbia def. Missouri Baptist, 7-2
The Scoring:
- T3 (MBU): The Spartans struck first with a two-run double (CC 0, MBU 2)
- B4 (CC): Avgustina Arbova singled to center field, scoring Karolina Arbova and Athena Wheeler (CC 2, MBU 2)
- B5 (CC): The Cougars added three runs in the fifth with RBIs from Wheeler, Karolina Arbova, and Avgustina Arbova (CC 5, MBU 2)
- B6 (CC): Mackenzie Kasarda gave the Cougars another insurance run with a sac fly (CC 6, MBU 2)
Inside the Box:
- Karolina Arbova and Avgustina Arbova had two hits each.
- Avgustina Arbova drove in three runs.
- Ella Schouten pitched 6.0 innings giving up two hits, one earned run and striking out 10.
- Alyssa Roll tossed one perfect inning.
- Schouten and Roll retired the final 11 Spartans in the game.
