Softball Adds Molly Jacobsen to Staff

Molly Jacobsen Softball Assistant Coach

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri softball head coach Larissa Anderson announced the addition of assistant coach Molly Jacobsen to the Tigers staff. Jacobsen will assist with the pitching staff and play a crucial role in scouting.

“Molly is an upcoming star in our profession,” Anderson said of Jacobsen. “I’ve always admired her work ethic and determination in her playing career, which has carried over now to her coaching career. She has been mentored by some phenomenal softball minds in our game and I look forward to sharing the bullpen with her and our pitching staff.”

Jacobsen joins the Tigers coaching corps after spending the past two seasons with Texas. She was a graduate manager in 2022 and a volunteer assistant in 2023.

As a member of the Longhorns staff, she helped Texas to an NCAA National Championship Runner-up finish in 2022 and an NCAA Super Regionals appearance in 2023.

Jacobsen coached NFCA All-Central Region selections Mac Morgan, Mia Scott, and Leighann Goode in 2023. Seven Longhorns earned All-Big 12 honors with her on staff last season.

Before coaching, Jacobsen was a collegiate pitcher at Texas (2021), Ole Miss (2019-20), and Des Moines Area Community College (2017-18).

The Adel, Iowa, native, spent her graduate season with Texas, notching a 14-6 record with 76 strikeouts en route to an NCAA Super Regional appearance in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

At Ole Miss, Jacobsen was named to the NFCA Second Team All-South Region and All-SEC Second Team. She totaled 19 wins, five saves, and 230 strikeouts with a 2.53 ERA over two seasons in Oxford, Mississippi.

Jacobsen was also a two-time First Team NJCAA All-American, All-District, and All-Conference choice at Des Moines Area CC, posting a 51-6 mark with 585 strikeouts. As a sophomore, she was named the NJCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Year.

Jacobsen earned her bachelor’s in exercise science from Ole Miss in 2020 before graduating with a master’s in sport management from Texas in 2022.

Jacobsen currently plays professionally for the Florida Vibe softball team.

With the addition of Jacobsen as Mizzou’s third full-time assistant coach, volunteer assistant coach Alivia Forshey will transition to Director of Player Development / Director of Camps.
