COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri soccer team ended their contest in a 2-2 draw against the University of Nebraska-Omaha at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 24th.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After an early Omaha (1-0-2) goal, freshman Brianna Buels got the Tigers (2-0-1) on the board with her first career goal. The assist came from classmate Olivia Chianelli, the first of her career. Omaha quickly regained a 2-1 lead at the 19th minute and held their advantage into the break.

Mizzou capitalized with a persistent second-half attack, just past the 70-minute mark, with a game-tying goal off the foot of sophomore Elena Zuchowski. The unassisted equalizer was Zuchowski’s first of the 2023 campaign.

The Tigers outshot the Mavericks 19-5 and totaled 13 shots on goal, marking a season high. Mizzou came with a flurry of late chances in a strong effort to come away with the win but could not put one in the back of the net to break the tie.
