SEC Announces Women’s Basketball Preseason Media Poll

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Women’s Basketball was tabbed to finish 11th in the 2023-24 Southeastern Conference Preseason Media Poll as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The Tigers concluded last season ninth in the conference standings. The upcoming campaign will tipoff at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 6 against Belmont.

HayleyFrank and Ashton Judd headline Missouri’s returning talent heading into the season. A two-time All-SEC honoree, Frank looks to move up on the program’s all-time scoring leaderboard where she currently ranks ninth. Judd, meanwhile, put together a standout freshman campaign in 2022-23, earning All-SEC Freshman Team honors, while shooting a program freshman-record 44.9 percent from beyond the arc.

The Tigers added eight players during the offseason with three freshmen and five transfers. Grace Slaughter, the No. 53 ranked recruit in the 2023 class is poised to make an impact in her inaugural collegiate season.

In addition to the preseason polling, the conference unveiled individual preseason honors. LSU junior forward Angel Reese was voted as the conference preseason player of the year. Missouri visits Reese and the defending national champions on Jan. 4 to open up SEC play.
